Conversations:
Shared and Reflected

This solo exhibition by Robert F. Schroeder features skillfully crafted copper and silver sculptures, inlaid with imagery and text to commemorate the lives of individuals who inspire him.

In the words of Bruce W. Pepich of the Racine Art Museum, "Robert F. Schroeder utilizes a common image—the domestic armchair—as a vehicle for delivering personal commentary on social and political issues... He is interested in recording individuals involved in the struggle for human rights, while also focusing on people whose courage has been inspirational.... By associating these people with a welcoming piece of household furnishing, the viewer is reminded of the humanity of the subject, as if sitting with them for a time and carrying on a conversation."
