Sherry Polley
August 1 - August 25, 2024
Artlink is pleased to present the solo exhibition Autistic Joy by Sherry Polley.
Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, August 1st from 5-8 pm!
Autistic Joy
Sherry’s work is influenced by her lived experience as an autistic and otherwise neurodivergent woman. It reflects on the extremes this has created in her life and gives visual form to her neurodivergent nature.
Through art, Sherry highlights the freedom to disregard social pressures that tell people to change who they are, while encouraging people to break free from internalized expectations. Her work captures the joy of individuality and of finding wonder in the unconventional. It celebrates the intense sensory world that is common among autistic people and stands proudly in its “neuro-sparkly” aesthetic.
